“I’m incredibly excited to make my Australian Superbike debut with MotoSchool. I’ve been fortunate to race on amazing tracks around the world, but there’s nothing like racing at home,” said Edwards.

“Phillip Island is such an iconic track, and it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to race in front of a home crowd. This opportunity is a huge milestone in my career and I’m grateful to the MotoSchool team for giving me this opportunity as well as my sponsors for their continued support. I’m determined to make the most of it!”

Edwards’ last full season in Australia was 2021, when he finished second in the Supersport championship.

The CEO of MotoSchool, Haydan Parker, believes ASBK is a great fit for his organisation. He said: “Racing in the Australian Superbike Championship feels like a natural progression for MotoSchool.

“This has been a project I have been shaping for some time and I wanted to ensure we had not only the right riders, but team sponsors and personnel involved in this campaign.

“While we initially intended to start only in Supersport 300 and support riders in the Oceania Junior Cup, with Tom Edwards returning we felt compelled to change our plans and bring him on board for his first outing on a Superbike in ASBK.

“Tom is a fantastic rider with proven talent on the international stage. I feel we have prepared and given him the equipment and resources to challenge for a championship and I look forward to revealing our team’s livery and bikes in the coming weeks.”
