The Round 2 ASBK Easter Long Weekend Essentials

With Round 2 of the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship now underway, we have everything you need to know for the action packed Easter long weekend – including venue location, athletes to watch, and where to keep up to date with the results for the entire event!

Made up by the fastest riders in the country, Round 2 of the ASBK is set to be an action packed weekend of racing, jam packed with speed, bikes, thrills, spills, pillion rides, come and try areas, and more.

Come and watch the likes of defending ASBK Champ DesmoSport Ducati mounted Mike Jones, go head to head with Yamaha Racing Team’s Glenn Allerton, Wayne Maxwell and Cru Halliday – get to the fence-line to watch local Troy Herfoss (Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team) wow his home crowd alongside fill in rider Ant West, or cheer on Daniel Falzon (Jon Daniels Racing) and Ben Burke as they take to the Yamaha Motorcycle Insurance Superbike Grid.

There is also plenty of action across the Motul Supersport category with Troy Guenther and Callum Spriggs looking to leave their mark on round two, as well as the young Locky Taylor and experienced Brian Houghton both vying for a Moto3 / 125GP 2016 Championship. The Yamaha R3 Cup will also fire to a start this weekend, keeping fans on the edge of their seats, along with Production and Club Classes to add to the action on track.

On top of the fierce rivalries across all classes, Australian road racing legends Troy Bayliss, Steve Martin, and Shawn Giles will be in attendance at Round 2 of the ASBK, and will be involved with the ASBK Pillion Program, fan experiences, and of course flying the flag at the event as official ASBK Ambassadors.

So whether you’re in for a weekend of adrenaline, you want to witness the best riders in the country go to battle, or you want to take the kids down to learn how to ride a bike with one of our accredited coaches in the ‘ASBK Come and Try’ area, Round 2 of the ASBK at Wakefield Park is an event not to be missed this Easter!
