Taylor on A Mission in YMF R3 Cup

The YMF R3 Cup took to the track for the first time since Wakefield and this field promises to deliver great racing throughout the Round 5 weekend for the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul Pirelli (ASBK). The rider of the day was Locky Taylor (Shark Leathers, Yamaha YZF-R3), who set the fastest lap time in class at Morgan Park. 

Taylor stood out in the YMF R3 Cup practice one to deliver the fastest time. He also managed to deliver the quickest lap time in the Australian Supersport 300. Not a bad day at the track for young Taylor.

Also impressing was Callum O’Brien (Banhams WA, Yamaha YZF-R3). Although he did not manage to set the fastest lap time, he can be confident in challenging for pole position and a race win tomorrow.

Max Stauffer (Rock Oil, Yamaha YZF-R3) followed closely behind in third and appears to be improving with every race weekend.

Harry Khouri (Excite M-sports, Yamaha YZF-R3) is also not far off in fourth position, while ‘Podium Hunter’ Ford (YRD, Yamaha YZF-R3) completed the top five and is always a contender for a top position.

Stay tuned to what promises to be an exciting battle during qualifying and race one of the YMF R3 Cup on Saturday. With an even playing field and similar machinery for the cup, its sure to be a thriller over the weekend!
