Strong Top 10 finish for GSR Kawasaki at Winton Raceway

GSR Kawasaki rider, Glenn Scott, battled his ZX10R machine towards another Top 10 finish in race 2 at Winton Raceway on the weekend. After starting 16thon the grid for both races, Scott and the team were thrilled to come away with such a positive result.

“The weekend started off slow and steady, qualifying was tough and we were a little unprepared for the pace everyone was on, as we were still trying to find a set up I was confident with. We were testing different compounds of tyres and working on finding a solution for our weakest points on track, which was under brakes. We finished qualifying in 16thposition on the grid for Sundays races and our lap time was the closest it’s been to pole position all season”.

Glenn made a fantastic start in race one, finding himself in 10thon lap 1, however, after a few costly mistakes, he fell back to 14th before the race was red flagged and declared with 4 laps to go.

“I was disappointed with race 1, I made some rider errors that cost me a lot of positions and time. Although the mistakes were frustrating, it’s all part of our development for these remaining ASBK rounds. I was able to analyse my race with my crew chief and make a few changes to the bike for race 2”.

Race 2 saw the field have 3 Restarts, which tested a few clutches and the concentration levels of the riders. Glenn’s ZX10R Kawasaki certainly passed the test, as he went on to ride his way to a great top 10 finish. This result put the team 11thoverall for the round and 2ndKawasaki home.

“After what was a fairly challenging weekend with many hurdles to overcome, it was very rewarding to come home in 10th position in race 2 for myself and my team. It showed our ‘never give up’ attitude and that with a little more time on the bike, some good things are to come for the GSR Kawasaki team”.

“I’d like to congratulate Troy Herfoss and Honda on taking out the 2018 Australian Superbike Championship, a very deserving victory”
