Stauffer Takes out Race One of GP Juniors Cup
Max Stauffer (Chris Watson, Yamaha R15) has landed on the top step of the podium after take out race one of the GP Juniors Cup at the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul Pirelli (ASBK), at Wakefield Park Raceway.
After qualifying fastest this morning, Stauffer carried his qualifying form into the race and led from start to finish. John Lytras (Yamaha R15) challenged Stauffer throughout the six-lap race, but Stauffer held off Lytras to take the win by just over one second.
Harrison Voight (Voight Contracting, Yamaha R15) took the last spot on the podium, after getting the better of Harry Khouri (Excite M-sports, Yamaha R15). The pair battled it out for the duration of the race, before Voight just pipped Khouri at the line.
Rounding out the top five was Zylas Bunting (Shark Leathers, Yamaha R15) who battled with Voight and Khouri for much of the race before having to settle for fifth position.
The GP Juniors Cup will back at it again on Sunday with two more races on Sunday, starting at 11:50am before the final race will start at 3:35pm.
