SpeedAngle back for more OJC number crunching in 2025
Evaluating rider performance in the BLU CRU Oceania Junior Cup (OJC) has been a seamless process since SpeedAngle lap timers became a series partner in 2022.
The data logger will now continue its association with OJC into 2025, benefitting the grassroots Road to MotoGP academy by not only allowing riders to monitor lap times on the fleet of Yamaha YZF-R15s but also individual sectors so they can determine ideal lap times.
In addition, the SpeedAngle timer – equipped with aero sensing technology and 10 Hz GPS module – allows for the overlay of data, which particularly benefits OJC rookies so they can make comparisons against more experienced riders. And to further streamline the process, Aussie racetracks are already preloaded on the SpeedAngle.
It’s a unique data logger which captures how riders perform, and not the motorcycle’s dynamics: the perfect system for junior riders to develop race craft, confidence and professionalism without information overload.
As well as the technical smarts of the lap timer, SpeedAngle will again sponsor the OJC Superpole program in 2025, with the fastest qualifier at each round receiving $100 to support their racing activities.
SpeedAngle is distributed in Australia by Mototrack Accessories. For more information on SpeedAngle lap timers and Mototrack’s full range of road, race, dirt and adventure accessories, click here.

Steve Thibou, owner, Mototrack Accessories:
“We are excited to continue supporting the BLU CRU Oceania Junior Cup with SpeedAngle lap timers. Measuring improvement is integral to developing juniors, but SpeedAngle is also used by stars of the sport such as reigning Superbike champion Josh Waters.
“This will also be our third year backing the Superpole winner at each round, allowing the OJC riders to experience a circuit racing journey similar to that of the top-level classes.”
Peter Doyle, CEO, Motorcycling Australia:
“I’m delighted the 20 riders competing in the 2025 BLU CRU Oceania Junior Cup will be utilising SpeedAngle technology.
“The data logger is the perfect fit for a junior circuit racing academy such as OJC, because the information it provides is clear, concise and accurate. Riders can clearly gauge their relative strengths and weaknesses, and you can’t ask for more than that as a learning tool.”
Round two of the 2025 BLU CRU Oceania Junior Cup will be held at Queensland Raceway from May 2-4 alongside the ASBK Championship. Get your tickets here and watch the stars of tomorrow in action.
