Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team’s Herfoss and Stauffer bound for Barbagallo Raceway

The Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team are gearing up to start the engines once again at Round 4 of the Australian Superbike Championship, taking place at Barbagallo Raceway this weekend, June 3-5, 2016.

After a seven week break in between rounds, the team will field two fit and healthy riders at round four of the ASBK this weekend, with both Jamie Stauffer and Troy Herfoss looking to perform well on their CBR1000RRSP Honda machines.

Herfoss, who currently sits in 3rd position in the Australian Superbike Championship standings only eight points shy of the lead, shared that after a successful test at Barbagallo he’ll be aiming for the top step this weekend.

“The team, myself and Jamie have actually been over in Western Australia for over a week, so it’s been nice to let the body adjust to the small time difference and get some practice in on the bike,” he said.

“After our test at Barbagallo we were really happy with where we are at with the Honda – we’ve made some good progress with the bike, and we’re looking forward to seeing what we can do at round four this weekend.

“Sydney Motorsport Park wasn’t a great round for me, but we still have a lot of races ahead of us, and there’s only eight points in the championship. Hopefully we can close the gap this weekend, and put some more championship points on the board.”

Stauffer, who made a successful return to racing at Sydney Motorsport Park after missing Round 2 of the ASBK due to a back injury, says that he’s close to being back at 100 per cent fitness, and is eager to race aboard his Honda CBR1000RRSP this weekend.

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend, we’ve had some of the best preparation we have had all year heading in to round four,” Stauffer shared.

“With my back injury, I wasn’t expecting too much from myself at Sydney Motorsport Park, but I was still up there, so it definitely gives me a bit of confidence now knowing that I’m close to being back at full fitness.

“We’ve had a great test at Barbagallo last week, and I’m feeling nice and comfortable on the CBR1000RRSP. The track is quite undulating and fast, so we’ve set the bike up for those conditions and we’re all looking forward to getting out there to race.”

The Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team will race at Round 4 of the 2016 Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul Pirelli this weekend, June 3-5.
