Michelin joins Homologated Tyre List
Motorcycling Australia (MA) is pleased to announce tyre manufacturer Michelin has joined the 2015 MA Homologated Tyre List.
The inclusion of Michelin brings the homologated list of tyre manufacturers to five, with Pirelli, Dunlop, Bridgestone and Sava already on board for the Australian Superbike Championship.
Considering Michelin’s standing in tyre manufacturing, its addition to the championship is undoubtedly a huge boost. It has a proud history when it comes to motorsport, and can lay claim to being the only tyre manufacturer to win all major international races and championships for both cars and motorcycles (F1, MotoGP, WRC, 24 Hours of Le Mans and Dakar included).
“We’re very pleased to be welcoming Michelin to the National Championship,” MA National Technical Officer Peter Doyle said today.
“Michelin coming on board provides yet another option for riders, who now have the option to select a tyre best suited to their individual needs.”
The updated list is available for download here.
The profile and inclusion of Michelin, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Dunlop and Sava joining ASBK gives this years’ Championship the opportunity to provide the best exposure to participating privateers.
Round 1 WSBK Supplementary Regulations for competitors are available here. Rounds 2-5 Supplementary Regulations are available here.
MA may release additional tyre manufacturer’s information as it becomes available.
