Kleefsman and Schmidt Round Winners for NT Club Challenges

The Northern Territory racers put on a display here at Hidden Valley Raceway for the final races of the MotorSports NT and MANT Club Challenges. The overall round winners were Jason Kleefsman and Karl Schmidt at the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul Pirelli (ASBK) support races.

MANT Club Challenge Race Two
Taking the victory for Race Two was Nathaniel Randles (Kawasaki ZX-10R) to make up for the disappointment of yesterday. It was a sweet victory for Randles who managed to convert his pole position to a win. It was actually Jason Kleefsman (Courtsea, Suzuki GSX-R750) to take the lead into turn one but it didn’t take long for his rival Randles to regain the ascendancy and lead to the finish. He also collected the fastest lap of the race.

Kleefsman took second place a further four seconds behind Randles. Geoffrey Hall (TERRA, Suzuki GSX-R1000) also managing a podium in third.

David Sergeant (Suzuki GSX-R600) came fourth with Paul Lally (Yamaha YZF-R6) in fifth.

Randles sharing after the victory; “We managed to get a much better start compared to yesterday and that set up the win today.”

Jason Kleefsman; “That was a mad race, I had a really bad moment where I almost lost the bike! I managed to save it and keep going to claim the second position.”

Geoffrey Hall; “The bike was a little hard on second gear but we managed to get home in the end after following Jason. The conditions weren’t too bad out there!”
