Howard Ford / Lee Menzies Combine to F1 & F2 Australian Sidecar Championship Victory

Wakefield Park Raceway was treated to great racing from the Puma RVs Round of the F1 & F2 Australian Sidecar Championship, part of the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul Pirelli (ASBK). 

The highly modified outfits of the F1 & F2 Australian Sidecar Championship were engaged in a heated battle today for Race One.

Race One quickly got underway at 16:20pm on the start grid. The F1 and F2 class machines launched from the starting grid positions.

The fastest lap was achieved by Mick Alton / Chrissie Clancy (J&C Contracting, F2 Suzuki LCR) with a time of 1:07.239. Taking victory was Howard Ford / Lee Menzies (California Custom Products, F1 Suzuki LCR) for the F1 class.

Fastest F2 Machine and current title holders, Alton / Clancy who finished a further 1.540s behind the first place getters.

Suzuki LCR machinery took the first two positions across the finish line. It will be facinating to see who can take the fight to Ford / Menzies in tomorrow’s races.

The battle for Sidecar supremacy gets back underway at 12:10pm for race two and 16:00 for race three.
