Dunker to ride in 2025 Asia Road Racing Championship

ASBK teenage gun Cameron Dunker will compete in the 2025 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) for his Australian team, MotoGO Yamaha.

The new challenge for both rider and team will see them compete in the premier Asia Superbike 1000 ARRC class, with the championship to be be held over six rounds across Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and Malaysia.

The 2025 ARRC commences at Chang International Circuit in Thailand from April 25-27 – just a week before round three of the ASBK Championship at Queensland Raceway – followed by Sepang from May 30-June 1.

Fellow MotoGP venues Mandalika (Indonesia) and Motegi (Japan) are also on the 2025 ARRC calendar.

Dunker’s opposition in the ARRC will include countryman Lachlan Epis, while the defending champion is Japan’s Yuki Kunii.

“I’m really thankful for the opportunity that Patrick (Li, MotoGO owner) has given me to race in Asia this year,” said Dunker. “I feel we have a strong bike and package to be able to fight at the front.”

Australian and New Zealand riders have been regular competitors in the ARRC over many years, including Anthony West.

In the early 1990s, the FIM Pan Pacific Superbike Championship was a precursor to the ARRC, with New Zealander Aaron Slight winning the inaugural series ahead of Aussie Malcolm Campbell.
