Darren Lark to be honoured at Phillip Island ASBK round

By MA Media 0

Following the tragic passing of ASBK Superbike Masters coordinator Darren Lark in April this year, a get-together has been organised at the Phillip Island round on September 7-8 to honour the memory of the lovable larrikin.

After on-track proceedings are completed on Saturday (September 7), the gathering will happen in the Superbike Masters paddock (turn right after crossing the track) until 7:30pm. Nibbles will be supplied and everyone is welcome.

‘Big Daz’ didn’t want a funeral, but Phillip Island – with his beloved Superbike Masters peers in attendance – will be a fitting location to remember his rich contribution to historic motorcycle racing, which he achieved with modesty, passion and large doses of self-deprecating humour.

There’ll be a few of Daz’s bikes on display, some speeches, plenty of photos, and the ‘Darren Lark Superbike Masters Cup Perpetual Trophy’ will make its public debut, which will be awarded to the overall winner of the Superbike Masters Cup starting at this year’s season-ending ASBK presentation at The Bend.

Thanks to ASBK on-track commentator Mark Bracks for helping to put the occasion together.

See you all there!
