Coming to ASBK? Hop on board and have a go!
Thanks to Suzuki, Yamaha and Honda, each round of the 2015 Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul Pirelli, will feature a Come and Try area for kids.
On both the Saturday and Sunday of each round at the 2015 Championship, kids will be able to have a free ride between 10am and 4pm at a special area at the racetrack.
The initiative – supported by the manufacturers, will be run by the host club in conjunction with Motorcycling Australia, and is designed to give kids who are at the track a taste of what it is like on board a bike!
Full safety gear and bikes will be provided, as well as a free day-licence so that the kids can have a go in a safe and controlled environment.
Speaking about the initiative, MA High Performance Manager Bronwyn Sorensen said that MA is always looking for ways to introduce new riders to the sport, and to teach kids the importance of safety while riding.
“We have always been committed to bringing new people into the sport – especially kids, and the benefits of programs like this is that they get to try it out in a safe and controlled environment,” she said.
“We make sure they have the right safety gear, equipment, that accredited officials and first aid officers are on hand, so they can get a feel for riding under the right kind of supervision.
“Whether or not they take up the sport, ride at club, state or national level, or go on to become a World Champion, this is where is all starts for the next generation of riders.”
So if you are a kid and you are at Morgan Park on the weekend, make sure you drag mum or dad to the Come and Try area and have a go!
And if you are taking your kids to check out the action – make sure you give them a first hand taste of what it is like to turn that throttle!!
