bLU cRU Oceania Junior Cup Profile: Lincoln Knight

In this week’s bLU cRU Oceania Junior Cup profile (OJC), we look at Lincoln Knight, a 15-year-old who not only races in the OJC series, but is also a keen Flat Tracker as well as a Speedway racer.

Tell us about where your love for motorcycle racing began and why?

I used to go and watch my Dad [Peter] race flat track. I thought it was really cool and wanted to start riding myself after watching Dad racing. So, my parents brought me a Yamaha PW50. From there I started to do flat track riding myself which I really enjoyed.

Tell us about the first time you hopped on a motorcycle.
I honestly don’t remember much. However, I just know that I have always enjoyed riding bikes.

Thinking back, tell us about one of your favourite memories growing up when it comes to motorcycling?

One of my favourite memories growing up would be when my parents surprised me with an 85cc motorcycle. I was just really happy and excited.

What career do you hope to end up in? For example, WSBK or MotoGP racer?

I would like to end up being some form of professional racer one day. However, my main goal would be to end up in Moto3, then head to Moto2 and obviously then to the MotoGP category. I’ll definitely be working as hard as possible to make that a reality.

Tell us who your sporting idol is. How have they impacted you and your love for motorcycling? My sporting idol would have to be Chris Holder. I remember watching him when I was little, as he used to ride at the local flat track near me. Then a few years later he ended up winning the World Championships. This inspired me a lot to want to go racing.

What have you learnt from the bLU cRU Oceania Junior Cup?

I’ve learnt that racing is a very hard competition. On top of that I’ve also realised just how much effort sponsors do for not only the Oceania Junior Cup series, but the sport in general.

Tell us about your bike, helmet, leathers, gloves and boots. How are you adjusting to the new bike? How do you find the products that have been chosen specially for you?

The AGV Helmets are really comfy. It’s really light and nice to wear. The Ricondi leathers are a good fit and really protective, same with the gloves.
The Yamaha YZF-R15 look cool and very easy to ride and handles really well.

We will release profiles from the class of 2019 each week, so be sure to stay tuned on your favourite star by heading to ASBK.com.au and following the bLU cRU Oceania Junior Cup Facebook page!
