bLU cRU Oceania Junior Cup New South Wales Wild Card Selection Event

MotoStars, in conjunction with Motorcycling NSW (MNSW), are excited to announce Motorcycling Australia (MA) are offering a Wild Card opportunity for one lucky NSW Junior to race at the final round of the bLU cRU Oceania Junior Cup, to be held at Sydney Motorsports Park, on the 1st – 3rd November.

MotoStars will run the OJC Wild Card Selection Event, which will be held at the upcoming MotoStars Ride Day at Wakefield Park on the 23rd of October.

The selection criteria require that riders are:

*Aged between 11 (at date of trial) and under 16 as of January 1st, 2019

*Have competed at National level (in any discipline) or be endorsed by a coach/SCB if they have not

*Hold an MA NSW Junior National Competition Licence

*Registered their interest for the 2020 OJC selection event via ASBK.com.au

*Hold a 160cc Road Race endorsement (an endorsement which can be completed at the selection event)

Candidates will be assessed by MotoStars staff and coaches, including official Oceania Junior Cup coach Damian Cudlin, on their own machines and on the MotoStars Yamaha Motor Australia R15’s, similar to those used in the OJC.

*Overall performance
*Rate of improvement
*Ability to learn
*Communication skills
*Age
*Attitude

Motorcycling NSW CEO Dave Cooke added; “The Oceania Junior Cup is a huge boost for new young road race talent coming through the ranks, and when Motorcycling Australia asked if we’d like to pay for a Wild Card ride for an aspiring NSW junior to have a ride at the final round at Sydney Motorsport Park (SMSP) in a few November, we jumped at it.”

“Hopefully it will open the door for a new superstar to eventually make their way to the international stage. MNSW has also been a big supporter of Damian Cudlin’s MotoStars program since its early days, and the opportunity for kids to work their way through junior road race under the eye of a coach like Damian is a massive deal for them. When MA offered us the wildcard ride we immediately asked Damo to run the qualifier for us to make sure the opportunity went to a young rider who was not only ready for the opportunity skill-wise, but also had the attitude and temperament to take the opportunity and make the most of it for themselves.”
