ASBK Winton Success For New Traction Control Motorsport Team

Traction Control Motorsport team had a successful first outing in the mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Championship, presented by Motul, at Round 2, Winton Motor Raceway, for the opening round of the 2021 season.

Riders Joseph Mariniello and Scott Nicholson both put on a great showing for the Traction Control Motorsport Team and both are looking forward to the Championship’s next round at Wakefield Park Raceway, Goulburn, NSW.

Mariniello was able to come home scoring 8th-6th-9th in the Supersport 300 field.

With little experience at ASBK level, Marinello put up a solid fight in all races to secure 7th place in the championship.

Nicholson rode well all weekend in the very competitive Supersport Class.

With a 3rd place in race one he found himself on the podium for the first time in the Supersport class and took home the first podium for the Traction Control Motorsport team.

With a 7th place in race two Scott will head into the next round of the championship in 5th place equal on points to fourth.

Mariniello said: “It was awesome to work with such a professional team this weekend at Winton”.

“The boys worked super hard to put me up the pointy end of the grid and I am super keen to keep improving with them into the future.”

Nicholson said: “The team have worked really hard the past couple of months to get me comfortable and fast on my new Yamaha R6”.

“It was great to put that hard work on show by putting myself and the team onto the podium.

“We have a big season ahead, but I’m confident we can continue this form throughout the year.”

Team Coordinator, Graeme Williams, said: “The Traction Control Motorsport team worked together really well this weekend”.

“With not a lot of time to prepare our operations prior to the meeting it was great to see all the team workers and riders’ gel and function well as a unit.

“We have some great results on the board and the whole team is really impressed with how both Joe and Scott have levelled up their riding coming into 2021.”
