ASBK Homologated Tyre List released

Motorcycling Australia (MA) have released the 2015 Australian Superbike Championship Homologated Tyre List for competitors.

The complete list is available for download here or from the ASBK Website.

CEO of Motorcycling Australia Dale Gilson is pleased to welcome tyre manufacturers Pirelli, Dunlop and Sava to the ASBK Championship in 2015.

“It’s fantastic to have three brands of quality tyres available to our riders for this year’s series.” Mr Gilson said.

“Combining with these manufacturers is a major step forward in providing stability, consistency and safety to competitors in the ASBK Championship.”

MA National Technical Officer Peter Doyle said choosing a homologated list over one control tyre was crucial in giving riders the best chance to race at their peak.

“With ASBK we’ve got an opportunity to develop local talent at the National level.

“More choice of tyre means more opportunity for up and coming riders to race to their full potential, pick the tyre that suits them rather than adapt to one single type.” Mr Doyle said.

Due to the unique conditions Phillip Island presents, both Pirelli and Dunlop have supplied an exclusive “Phillip Island tyre” for the Superbike class to provide maximum safety and performance for Superbikes in Round 1 and Round 5.

Round 1 WSBK Supplementary Regulations for competitors are available here. Rounds 2-5 Supplementary Regulations are available here.

MA may release additional manufacturer’s information as it becomes available.
