OJC: Bodie Paige Makes It Four On The Trot with Saturday Victory
Bodie Paige claimed a decisive race one victory in the bLU cRU Oceania Junior Cup to make it four wins in a row.
After returning from America less than two weeks ago, the Paige brothers travelled to Appin to compete in the Australian Flat Track National Titles before immediately returning to their home base in Queeensland and preparing for the next installment of their 2023 OJC campaign. The brothers did not have it all their own way this morning, as Riley Nauta put in a blistering time of 1:35.457 to shoot straight to the top of the timesheets and claim pole position after a frantic qualifying session which saw many contenders battling traffic as they tried to gain a tow for lap time advantage.
The stars of tomorrow put on a show in the afternoon sun
As the lights went out, a typical OJC race began. Chopping and changing, dicing and diving, the positions changed frequently as the contenders established themselves at the front. Riley Nauta couldn’t capitalise on his qualifying pace as he progressively slipped down the order to fifth. The top five were separated by less than a second at the line, as Bodie Paige used his experience and confidence on the Yamaha R15 to keep the chasing pack behind and claim his fourth victory in a row in what is an ominous sign for his championship rivals.
The bLU cRU Oceania Junior Cup continues on Sunday with two six lap races to round out the weekend.
