Halliday Books Third Consecutive Kawasaki Supersport Pole

Cru Halliday (Yamaha Racing Team, YZF-R6) has been a man on a mission as of late in the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul Pirelli (ASBK), booking his third consecutive Kawasaki Supersport Pole Position at Hidden Valley Raceway with a lap record 1:07.951.

Halliday has been in a rare vein of form since three second place finishes at Phillip Island at Round 1, claiming perfect results at both Wakefield Park Raceway and The Bend Motorsport Park. Halliday has landed himself the best chance of a hattrick, starting from the front of the grid once again.

Halliday is comfortable and ready for a battle in tomorrow’s races; “We made some changes from Q1 to Q2, but we found one change didn’t work but one did, so we will make some alterations tonight, and I think tomorrow’s racing will be different. I don’t have the field covered with outright speed, but I’ve been the most consistent I have been at a meeting and that puts us in good position for the 14 lap races tomorrow,” finished Halliday.

The last rider to beat Halliday, Tom Toparis (Cube Racing, Kawasaki ZX-6R) will start from second position in tomorrow’s racing after registering a 1:08.059.

After clocking the third fastest time in practice yesterday, Max Croker (Mat Mladin Racing, Suzuki GSX-R) was once again registered the third quickest lap time with a 1:08.703.

Lachlan Epis (ResponseRE, Kawasaki ZX-6R) will start from fourth position in his return to ASBK, clocking a fastest lap of 1:08.986.

Rounding out the top five was Giuseppe Scarcella (Kawasaki BCperformance, Kawasaki ZX-6R) who has maintained his position from practice yesterday, with his lap of 1:09.480 securing him fifth position.

The stage is set for a tantalising fourteen lap race and the best news is there will be two races tomorrow, race one at 10am and the race two at 12:55pm.
