Mike Jones will waive the Aussie flag at Grand Prix of Japan

2015 Australian Superbike Champion DesmoSport Ducati’s Mike Jones will fly the Aussie flag high amongst fellow Australian Jack Miller at this weekend’s Grand Prix of Japan.

The young 22-year old Australian rider who has just finished competing in the 2016 Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul Pirelli this season, where he finished fifth in the championship, has made the last-minute journey to Japan, replacing regular rider Hector Barbera on the Avintia Ducati team.

The announcement surfaced as Hector Barbera has been elected to ride for injured Andrea Iannone on the factory Ducati Team Desmosedici. Jones will ride alongside Loris Baz in this weekend events.

You will be able to catch all the racing action LIVE on FOXSPORTS at 4pm on Sunday October 16, where Jones will mount the bike steering the number seven in his maiden Grand Prix.
